   She wants VENGEANCE
   He wants JUSTICE

The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies-humans with extraordinary abilities- who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice- and in Nova. But Nova's allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

My Review
(spoilers, as always)
Personally, I enjoyed this book. When I say "enjoyed" I mean like. I didn't necessarily love the book, but I didn't hate it. There were a lot of super hero's names to get used to. I had to constantly keep going back to the beginning of the book to check who was who. It was annoying at time but the guide was helpful.
Now, I really really love the Lunar Chronicles. They're one of my favorite book series. Would this book be at the same spot as the Lunar Chronicles? Honestly? No.
I did enjoy this book even though for me, it was a little slow paced toward the beginning.
I thought it was so sad what Nova had to go through but it could guess what was going to happen after the man came in with the gun. I still couldn't believe that he ACTUALLY SHOT EVIE! He shot a baby! Now, that just wrong. Who shoots a baby? Oh, I know, someone who DOES NOT, I REPEAT DOES NOT HAVE A HEART.
Out of all the people I got to know, I mostly felt bad for Winston. He was EXCLUDED from the Anarchists and Nora ditches him once she grows up. But that's all the pity I have for him. That's because, in my head, I imagine him as one of those creepy marionette dolls everyone tries to throw away. I don't know why I see him as that but I do- and it's not a pretty sight.
I also feel bad for Max- left all alone in a quarantine. Where we can kill and absorb powers. Not that any kid WANTS to do that.
Let's move on to Adrian aka the "Sentinel". There is ONE word I have to describe him and that's: oblivious. If I went a looked up the word "oblivious" right under 1. it would be Adrian.

Like seriously, this guy is the king of being oblivious. He can NEVER put two and two together. When "Nova" "disappeared" at the Fun House and "Nightmare" pops up, how can you NOT put two and two together? Like for real. Nova disappears and outcomes Nightmare. Once Nightmare leaves then, out of NOWHERE Nora comes. I mean even if he didn't put two and two together, wouldn't you seem suspicious?

That whole scene did get my hopes up though. I was imagining all the ways Adrian was going to find out, but NONE of that happened. All I got out of it was a sly Adrian asking Nora, "What would you say if I asked you on a date." *rolls eyes* To top it all off though,

Nora didn't even bother asking the question. She just ran off to see her "uncle".
So by this point, you're probably wondering," This girl must not like this book." That's where you are wrong. I loved this book. Ok, love is a strong word. I enjoyed this book. It kept me entertained.
Can we PLEASE talk about that ending! When Nova goes back into the tunnels and sees Ace, is he alive? Or is it his ghost? I hate when authors do that. But I love it at the same time. I do need to sort of an "advance" to make me read the next book.
I already expressed my feelings for Adrian, but now I'm going to express them on the Sentinel. Man, he was annoying. He would POP out of nowhere and mess everything up.
Wait... a second. I just had realized something. Not only is Adrian oblivious, Nova is too.

How can see not put two and two together? When Adrian was gone, and the Sentinel appeared then disappeared, and Adrian popped up out of nowhere, how can he not put two and two together. I am actually a teeny bit disappointed in her for that. Nova is smart. How can she not realize that? I understand though, Nova does not hold a book containing all of Adrian's thoughts, now does she? For the next book, I am looking forward to both of them finding out the truth about each other.

This sounds kind of mean, but when Nova shot the "Sentinel" several times I was there cheering her on. The Sentinel just annoys the HECK out of me. In my opinion, he is SUCH a wannabe. Popping out of nowhere just too freaking "save the day".
Ok, ok I admit Adrian isn't my favorite character (in case you couldn't tell).
Ok, so that's enough on my rant about Adrian. You know what I LOVE about this book? Every time I think about it, I immediately go into its theme song- that song my X Ambassadors- Renegades. "Renegades." *dun dun dun* (that was cool music by the way)
>>Here's a link to the song<<

(I assume you've heard it, but now you can hear it while thinking about the book)
IN CONCLUSION
I loved the Lunar Chronicles more than Renegades. That doesn't mean I'll be one of the first at the bookstore ready to buy the second book which comes out November 2018 (so far away). Would I recommend this book? Of course. I thought it was a great read. Make sure to be on the lookout for my YouTube channel to come. It's the same name as this blog.
